Botulinum Toxin

Not only for wrinkles
Botulinum toxin, commonly referred to as Botox, has for years been very popular among patients. Effective and impressive, in the hands of a specialist it can do miracles. It has a range of applications, not only in aesthetic medicine. It is used for instance for treating muscle contractures, various types of tics, hyperhidrosis, and even migraines. However, it is applied most frequently to smoothen wrinkles. It lets you correct the lion’s wrinkle on the forehead, horizontal wrinkles, crow’s feet, drooping lips, gummy smile, “cellulite” effect on the chin, or neck wrinkles.
Botox blocks neuromuscular conduction, which results in “relaxation” of the muscle. A given muscle is injected several times. After a few days (from 2 to 14) it relaxes and wrinkles are smoothed. The effect lasts for 3 to 6 months. After that period, the procedure should be repeated.
Botulinum toxin is becoming more and more popular for treatment of hyperhydrosis. The affected area, such as armpits, feet or hands, is injected with Botox, thereby reducing sweat secretion by at least half. If you are struggling with this embarrassing problem, we recommend performing the procedure in early spring to ensure comfort throughout the whole summer.
